The 5-layer films made of EVOH or polyamide help avoid spoilage by keeping oxygen and odors out, while keeping the flavor, aroma and atmosphere inside where they belong. This protects the value and quality of foods and prolongs shelf life without artificial additives.

Cellophane
Brief History
Cellophane was invented by Jacques E. Brandenberger . In 1900, inspired by seeing wine spill on a restaurant's tablecloth, he decided to create a cloth that could repel liquids rather than absorb them. His first step was to spray a waterproof coating onto fabric, and he opted to try viscose. The resultant coated fabric was far too stiff, but the clear film easily separated from the backing cloth, and he abandoned his original idea as the possibilities of the new material became apparent

Corona treatment
Corona treatment (sometimes referred to as air plasma) is a surface modification technique that uses a low temperature corona discharge plasma to impart changes in the properties of a surface. The corona plasma is generated by the application of high voltage to an electrode that has a sharp tip. The plasma forms at the tip. A linear array of electrodes is often used to create a curtain of corona plasma. Materials such as plastics, BOPP films, Polyethylene films, cloth, or paper may be passed through the corona plasma curtain in order to change the surface energy of the material. Corona treatment is a widely used surface treatment method in the plastic film, extrusion, and converting industries.

Cellophane and polypropylene
Cellophane and polypropylene are both used to package food and other products. As a food packaging, cellophane is easier to manipulate and costs more than polypropylene. Both products are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Polyethylene VS cellophane
Despite the fact that the two types of material are similar in appearance (have a transparent color and crunch when compressed), the difference between them is very great. And it begins from the very moment of its creation: cellophane is a natural material, and polyethylene is an artificial material. Cellophane is a transparent transparent film resistant to water and various odors.
