Difference between opp and cpp

We stock a huge range of cello bags, also known as PP and CPP bags. Cello bags or cellophane bags are made from a film substrate know as polypropylene. Polypropylene comes in two main forms which are OPP, (Orientated Polyprop and CPP Cast Polyprop).

OPP, (Crystal Clear) is typically used for Greetings card packaging and bags but Cast Polyprop can also be used for the same products. OPP just gives you a sharper, neater edge to the bag than that of CPP but is a bit more brittle and is available in 30mu. They are also perfect for desplaying art works and prints.

Oriented polypropylene is a flexible material derived from melting and orienting the polymer called Polypropylene. The raw material is inert, thus unaffected by most chemical agents occurring in everyday life. It meets the requirements of the US Food and Drug Administration, as well as other relevant Authorities throughout the world. Uncoated OPP contains mainly Carbon and Hydrogen, and includes no heavy metals or other environmentally hazardous substances.

Its major markets are Packaging and Labels.

The process of orienting improves this products physical properties such as:

CPP comes in 35-40mu. These clear bags are clear but not Crystal Clear and may have slight imperfections or blemishes. To many though this wont matter but if it does then Crystal Clear bags are for you.

We stock 24 sizes between the 2 types of Cello bags.

Please note that some of the larger bags will come folded. This will be stated on each item if folded. If you need them to be flat, then we can do this for you but there may be an extra charge on postage due to the extra size of the parcel. Please ask us so we can cost for you before you buy.
